Saturday Night Live Remembers Former Host Rob Reiner After His Passing
Saturday Night Live paid tribute to the late Rob Reiner during its holiday episode, which aired recently. The tribute came just before the curtain call and marked the show’s first episode since Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found deceased last Sunday. The memorial card featured Reiner as he appeared during his hosting stint of SNL in its inaugural season.
Reiner holds a significant place in Saturday Night Live history, having hosted the show’s third episode in 1975. He was instrumental in establishing the program’s signature comedic format as the first host to actively engage in sketches. Notably, he also appeared as an audience member in a Season 10 episode.
In a tragic turn of events, Reiner and his wife were last seen alive attending a party thrown by former SNL cast member Conan O’Brien, alongside their son, Nick, who has been charged with their murder. The party and Nick’s interactions with guests, including fellow comedian Bill Hader, have garnered significant media attention following the couple’s untimely demise.
