Lobo and New Miguel Angel Blanco Documentary Join Netflix Spain lineup
Netflix has revealed a documentary film about the murder of Miguel Ángel Blanco, a miniseries centered on a serial killer, and a feature film from Oriol Paulo, as part of its latest Spanish content lineup.
In its ongoing series of international slate announcements, Netflix introduced a collection of new originals along with updates on existing projects. Spanish and Spanish-language content have become essential for subscriber growth in recent years, prompting significant investments in local productions.
Among the new offerings, Lobo features Luis Tosar in the lead role alongside Tristán Ulloa. The miniseries is authored by Alberto Marini and Juan Galiñanes, directed by Marini and Javier Rodríguez Delgado, and produced by Vaca Films. Filming has recently commenced, with a first-look image also shared.
This show draws inspiration from the true story of Manuel Blanco Romasanta, a traveling tailor dubbed Spain’s first documented serial killer in 19th-century Galicia. During his trial, Romasanta famously claimed to be a werewolf.

In addition, Netflix has commissioned the documentary Miguel Ángel Blanco: Las 48 Horas que lo Cambiaron Todo. Directed by Jon Sistiaga and Juanjo López, the film is produced by The Tintirin Team.
The documentary examines the two pivotal days in 1997 when the Spanish public mobilized to prevent the murder of politician Miguel Ángel Blanco, who was kidnapped and ultimately killed by the separatist group ETA.
En Nombre de Otro, another film among Netflix’s new titles, is written and directed by filmmaker Oriol Paulo and produced by Juanita Films. The film stars Eduard Fernández, Mario Casas, Blanca Suárez, Nicolás Francella, and Alexandra Jiménez, and production is currently underway. It is described as a “fast-paced thriller where nothing is what it seems.”
A first-look image from this film has also been released.
During a highly anticipated presentation in Madrid this morning, stars and executives from various new titles took to the stage, including leads from The Final Problem, Jose Coronado, Maribel Verdú, and Martiño Rivas.
