Actors Johnny Massaro and Rodrigo Santoro are set to star in an adaptation of Paulo Coelho’s novel, **The Pilgrimage**, directed by Vicente Amorim. Filming has officially begun for the production, which will be available on Netflix.
The announcement of this project was first made in mid-2024, and production is currently taking place in Spain.
Santoro, known for his roles in the **300** films and HBO’s **Westworld**, also starred in Netflix’s **The Son of a Thousand Men**. Massaro, another Brazilian actor featured in that film, is recognized for his performance in **God Save The King**.

Under the guidance of the enigmatic Petrus (Santoro), Paulo faces a series of trials that lead him deeper into self-discovery, involving mysterious encounters and unseen forces that challenge both his physical and spiritual limits.
As production gains momentum, the film’s team has expressed their intention to capture the essence of a road movie, infused with the magical narrative style characteristic of Coelho’s writing.
