Kat Dennings Shares Fun Story About Being in the Marvel System During ‘Thor’ Films
Kat Dennings, known for her role as Darcy Lewis, has not officially returned for the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday. However, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans may still see her character in the movie.
In a recent interview, Dennings revealed that Marvel Studios “did scan me” during her time working on the Thor films, indicating that they could potentially include her in future projects, including Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to premiere on December 18. “I’m in the universe, and as you know, I can’t tell you anything, but I am not in [Doomsday],” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I mean, I’m not in it. And I’m telling you right now, I’m not in it. If I were in it, which I’m not, I couldn’t tell you, but I literally am not. I’m sure they already filmed it. I was here, I’m not in it.”
Dennings further commented, “But they did scan me, so to be honest, they could put me in anything they want at this point. Who knows? I’m in the system!”
The use of body scans has become more prevalent in Hollywood as the industry navigates the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). Charlize Theron recently underwent a similar scan for her MCU role. Meanwhile, members of Equity in the UK voted last month to refuse on-set scans.
Despite Dennings’ assertions, the prospect of her appearing in Avengers: Doomsday remains open, if not entirely probable. Social media discussions continue to speculate on her potential involvement. Last month, Marvel also featured Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in one of several teasers for Avengers: Doomsday, showcasing the film’s expansive cast.
