France TV Launches New Drama Series ‘The Ones Left Behind’ Featuring Isabelle Carré
Exciting French Drama Set for London Debut
Next week, The Ones Left Behind, starring Isabelle Carré, will make a significant entry into the spotlight at the London TV Screenings. France TV Distribution has acquired international rights and will begin pre-selling the crime drama to global audiences.
The six-episode series is inspired by true events and centers on Tania (played by Danae Dario), a woman grappling with postpartum depression who seeks to reconnect with her mother, Christine (Carré). Their journey takes them into archival research, where they uncover that Rose, Christine’s mother, died under suspicious circumstances. What starts as a quest for identity evolves into a dangerous investigation, as the duo confronts the extent they are willing to go for the truth surrounding Rose’s mysterious death.
The cast also includes Christian Mukuna, Roland Vouilloz, Mélanie Foulon, Julia Portier, and Geneviève Mnich. Director Léa Fazer helms the project, working from a script crafted in collaboration with Mathilde Henzelin and Sébastien Meier.
As anticipation builds for the series, slated to premiere in late 2026, France TV Distribution will actively engage with potential buyers at the London TV Screenings. The original French title for The Ones Left Behind is Placée. The production is a collaborative effort from Rita Productions, Sequel Prod, Behive, Kidam, and RTS.
London has emerged as a global hub for television sales every February, with notable events like the London TV Screenings, MIP London, and BBC Showcase drawing international buyers and hosting numerous launches and gatherings.
