Harry Styles to Curate Meltdown Festival 2026
Harry Styles has been announced as the curator for Meltdown Festival 2026, taking charge of one of the U.K.’s longest-running live music events this summer.
The acclaimed artist will curate an eclectic mix of music, art, and workshops over an eleven-day period from June 11 to June 21. A detailed lineup of performers and activities is expected to be revealed in the spring.
Now in its 31st edition, Meltdown Festival is hosted annually at the Southbank Centre in London and is recognized as the “world’s longest-running artist-curated music festival.” The event utilizes multiple performance spaces and galleries throughout the venue.

Styles joins a prestigious line of previous curators, including iconic artists like David Bowie, Yoko Ono, and Patti Smith, as well as The Cure’s Robert Smith and Little Simz, who headed last year’s festival.
In addition to curating the festival, Styles will headline a significant performance at the Royal Festival Hall within the Southbank Centre, with more details to follow.
“I’m deeply honored to curate the Meltdown Festival, especially for the Southbank Centre’s 75th anniversary year,” Styles stated. “My goal as the curator is to share the music and art that I love and to celebrate the rich history of the venue.”
He added, “We both share a passionate belief that music is a vital part of life. It brings us together, and the Southbank Centre has been at the heart of it, providing easy access to great music for the past 75 years. I’m incredibly grateful to Southbank for having me; it’s really exciting for me to have this opportunity in such an iconic venue.”
Jane Beese, head of contemporary music at the Southbank Centre, remarked, “It’s a real privilege to welcome an artist with the cultural impact and presence of Harry Styles as curator of Meltdown in our 75th anniversary year. His openness, warmth, and instinct for collaboration feel perfectly aligned with the spirit at the heart of the festival.”
Beese expressed excitement for Styles’ vision, stating it would create space for connection, discovery, and joy, inviting audiences into a festival that reflects the breadth and generosity of his artistic world.
The press release indicates that Styles aims to curate a diverse lineup influenced by a wide range of genres, from pop and soul to electronic and rock, as well as featuring emerging British talent. The 2026 festival will also include free public events designed to engage younger audiences.
The previous year’s Meltdown Festival showcased a dynamic mix of established and emerging artists, including performances from The Streets, Jon Batiste, Mahalia, and Lola Young, culminating with Little Simz and the Chineke! Orchestra.
Styles is set to release his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., on March 6. His 2026 Together, Together tour will cover seven major global cities and feature over 50 shows, including 30 nights at Madison Square Garden this fall.
