Lana Del Rey Sings the Theme for James Bond’s ‘007: First Light’ Movie
Lana Del Rey has made her entry into the James Bond franchise, unveiling the theme song for the upcoming video game, 007: First Light, developed by IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios.
The poignant track pairs Del Rey with renowned composer David Arnold, known for his work on five previous Bond films. Arnold’s notable contributions include scores for Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999), Die Another Day (2002), Casino Royale (2006), and Quantum of Solace (2008).
Arnold expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “The music of James Bond has always been a huge part of its identity. A title song has to tell us about the world we are about to enter into. It has to intrigue, excite, and beckon us in. This song joins a long line of genre-defining songs, each one creating a benchmark of style that adds to the magnificent heritage that is ‘The Bond Song’. That’s why I was so excited to work with Lana, an artist who brought elegance, atmosphere, and her totally unique character to this piece, which I hope will open the world of Bond to a whole new audience.”
The official title sequence featuring Del Rey’s theme song will be revealed on Friday, April 17, at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PST.
007: First Light was showcased during the PlayStation’s 2025 State of Play event in September. The game stars Patrick Gibson, known for his role in Dexter: Original Sin, as a young 007 agent at MI6. He will be joined by a talented cast that includes Lennie James (Greenway), Priyanga Burford (M), Alastair Mackenzie (Q), Kiera Lester (Moneypenny), and Noémie Nakai (Ms. Roth).
Originally scheduled for release on March 27, 2026, 007: First Light will now launch on May 27, 2026, a date previously associated with the highly anticipated release of GTA6.
