Sia Tops Spotify Charts as Australia’s Favorite Artist in 2025

Sia Furler continues to hold her title as Australia’s Queen of Spotify, as new streaming data reveals her significant influence.
The acclaimed pop singer and songwriter achieved a historic milestone this week by becoming the first artist to top the Global Impact List of Australian recording artists twice. Sia’s collaboration with David Guetta, “Beautiful People,” soared to No. 1 on the chart, which ranks global streams of Australian musicians while excluding data from Australia.
In 2023, she previously claimed the top spot with her track “Gimme Love.”

Meanwhile, Tame Impala, the psychedelic pop project led by Kevin Parker, is making a strong impact with seven songs from their fifth studio album, Deadbeat, appearing in the latest top 50 chart. Four tracks reached the top 15, including “Dracula” at No. 2 and “Loser” at No. 8.
The Kid LAROI also demonstrates a commanding international presence on Spotify, with seven tracks featured on the list. Among these are notable top 10 hits, such as “I Know Love” with Tate McRae at No. 3 and “A COLD PLAY” at No. 9.
Other prominent Australian artists making waves include Dom Dolla, Dean Lewis, Rüfüs Du Sol, Royel Otis, and Lithe.
Leah Harris, Spotify’s Head of Artist & Label Partnerships for AUNZ, commented, “It’s impossible not to feel the impact of Australian music wherever you go, whether that’s in the U.S., Europe, or emerging markets where local artists are finding passionate new fans.”
Harris further noted, “The data behind Spotify’s Australian Music Global Impact List shows just how borderless music has become and how artists from Australia are connecting with listeners around the world in deeper and more meaningful ways than ever before.”
According to Spotify, the United States was the top export market for Australian artists in 2025, followed by the U.K. and Germany. Additional fast-growing markets include Brazil, Mexico, the Philippines, and France, with South Africa (+99%), the Philippines (+64%), and Colombia (+53%) emerging as the fastest-growing regions for Australian music over the past three years.
Recently, Spotify reported strong growth in both subscriber and monthly active user counts, surpassing forecasts for the fourth quarter. The platform boasted 290 million premium subscribers, marking a 10% increase year-on-year, while Monthly Active Users (MAUs) rose 11% to 751 million.
