Hesperia High School Wrestling Coach Arrested on Suspicion of Child Exploitation
A wrestling coach at Hesperia High School was arrested Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of lewd and lascivious acts involving a minor, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Gene Richard Griffith III, 36, a resident of Hesperia, emerged as the prime suspect during the investigation led by detectives in the department’s Specialized Investigations Division, focusing on crimes against children.
The inquiry began on Tuesday around 4 p.m. after law enforcement received a report. Following a thorough investigation, Griffith was taken into custody the next day and subsequently booked into the High Desert Detention Center. He now faces allegations related to lewd and lascivious acts with a child.
Authorities have indicated that there may be additional victims associated with this case, prompting a call for anyone with relevant information to step forward.
