New Cast Members Join ‘Popeye The Slayer Man 2’ as Exciting First Look is Unveiled
Popeye The Slayer Man 2 Ramps Up Production in Upstate New York
Filming has commenced for Popeye The Slayer Man 2, the sequel to the cult horror film released last year, in upstate New York. The project has welcomed new cast members, including Daniel Baldwin, known for his role in Homicide: Life on the Street, and Avaryana Rose, star of The Caretaker.
The sequel follows Popeye, the iconic sailor whose descent into madness was catalyzed by contaminated spinach in the first film. This installment sees him unleashing a violent rampage for revenge after his home is destroyed, while law enforcement and estranged family members attempt to confront the remnants of his character.
"This movie is bigger and bloodier than the first. More kills and gore and more Popeye backstory," said producer Jeff Miller. "Fans of the original won’t be disappointed, and we believe we’ll get new fans with this one."
Returning to the production are Sean Michael Conway, Elena Juliano, Sarah Nicklin, Nathan Todaro, and Jason Stephens, who reprises the title role. Baldwin’s character will be the town’s mayor, with Rose portraying his daughter. New additions to the cast include Chelsea Gilson, Mia Rose, Derek Poole, and Jesse Wakeman.
The film is directed by Robert Michael Ryan, with a screenplay penned by John Doolan, known for Remains. Jeff Miller, Cuyle Carvin, and Ryan are among those contributing to the story. The production team also features Alexander Tucker and Nathan Todaro as producers, with executive producers including Brandon Gibbs, Dustin Knoop, Korey Rowe, and Ronnie D. Lee. Additional roles in the crew include Korey Rowe as director of photography, R.J. Young overseeing special makeup effects, Andrew Mulligan as propmaster, and Heather Sharpe as wardrobe supervisor.
Popeye The Slayer Man 2 is a co-production among Salem House Films, Millman Productions, Cloud 9 Productions, Babe Entertainment, Ron Lee Productions, and Otsego Media.
