Matty Matheson Brings His Unique Cooking Style to Netflix with ‘Just A Dash’
Matty Matheson’s Cooking Series Heads to Netflix for Season 3
Matty Matheson, known for his role in FX’s The Bear, is making his way to Netflix as the streaming service has secured the exclusive global rights to Season 3 of his cooking series, Just A Dash.
Originally launched on his YouTube channel in 2019, Just A Dash has gained a dedicated following, transitioning from YouTube to Netflix—a move that mirrors the platform’s acquisition of other popular titles like The Sidemen’s Inside and the dating series Pop The Balloon. Netflix will also make the first two seasons of Just A Dash, each comprising 12 episodes, available to stream starting January 20, 2026.
In Just A Dash, Matheson, formerly the executive chef at Toronto’s Parts & Labor and now the owner of Matty’s Patty’s Burger Club and Prime Seafood Palace, brings his culinary flair to the screen. Described as a blend of “Martha Stewart and HP Lovecraft,” the show features Matheson cooking in his own kitchen, but Season 3 promises a thrilling twist as he ventures out with “no kitchen and no plan.”
The show has been brought to life with the talents of Chris Wardle, who contributed as writer, director, and executive producer, alongside Matheson in similar roles. Matheson has been vocal about the challenges of securing funding for this new season, recently expressing his hopes in a video on his YouTube channel. “In the comments section, it’s like… ‘Where’s Just A Dash [season] three’? Yeah, I’d like to know too,” he stated, humorously seeking support from potential investors.
Additionally, Matheson, who portrays handyman Neil Fak in The Bear, has labeled the upcoming season as “possibly the most insane TV show ever created in the culinary world,” setting high expectations for fans eagerly awaiting its release.
