Production of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives to Continue After Taylor Frankie Paul Situation
In a significant development for the reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Hulu has announced that production for Season 5 will resume following a pause earlier this year amid controversies surrounding cast member Taylor Frankie Paul.
While the streaming platform confirmed the return to filming, it did not specify a timeline for when this would occur. This announcement comes just ahead of Disney’s major reality event, Get Real, scheduled for April 22, indicating a strategic move to address production updates ahead of a series of announcements.
Filming originally halted shortly after the premiere of Season 4 due to allegations of domestic assault involving Paul. The show, produced by Jeff Jenkins Productions, features a cast that includes Paul alongside Jessi Draper, Jen Affleck, Miranda Hope, Whitney Leavitt, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, and Layla Taylor, all of whom also serve as executive producers.
The future involvement of Paul remains uncertain as she navigates the aftermath of various allegations from her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen and the shelving of her season of The Bachelorette. Recently, domestic charges against her were dropped following an incident where she was seen throwing a metal stool at Mortensen. Paul indicated her intent to “share the process” of her healing journey in a recent statement.
In addition to the challenges surrounding Paul, the cast has witnessed its own share of drama in Utah, including Draper reportedly engaging in questionable romantic encounters, suggesting a wealth of material for future episodes when production resumes.
The series is produced by Jeff Jenkins Productions in collaboration with 3BMG and Walt Disney Television Alternative, with executive production from Jeff Jenkins, Russell Jay-Staglik, Andrea Metz, and Dan Cerny at Jeff Jenkins Productions. Additional executive producers include Ross Weintraub and Reinout Oerlemans from 3BMG, along with Lisa Filipelli, Georgia Berger, and Danielle Pistotnik at Select Entertainment. Co-executive producers are Melissa Bidwell, Robin O’Neal, and Stephanie Weinberg.
