Kim Kardashian Reveals Surprising Musical Preferences on Sister’s Podcast
In a surprising revelation during an episode of her sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Khloé in Wonderland, Kim Kardashian discussed her musical tastes and admitted to listening to music by Taylor Swift.
Khloé initiated the conversation by asking, “Do you think people would be surprised that you listened to Taylor Swift?” Kim responded, “I think I’ve said it. I have her, like, some of her older songs in my playlist. I’ve always thought she’s like a super-talented, great artist.”
The relationship among Kim, her ex-husband Ye—formerly known as Kanye West—and Swift has been notably tumultuous. This history was ignited by the infamous 2009 MTV Video Music Awards incident, which led to Kim publicly sharing an edited phone call in 2016, casting Swift in a negative light concerning Ye’s song “Famous.” In 2020, the full tape was leaked, exonerating Swift but causing lasting repercussions.
Reflecting on that period, Swift told TIME in 2023, “Make no mistake — my career was taken away from me. That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before.”
In that same interview, Swift directly addressed Kardashian, stating, “You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar,” adding that she “didn’t trust anyone anymore.”
Swift expressed the emotional toll the situation took on her, noting, “I went down really, really hard.”
In April 2024, Swift released the track “thanK you aIMee” on The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, which many interpreted as a commentary on her relationship with Kardashian, particularly due to the song’s lyrics and the unique capitalization spelling out “Kim.” A later live version, retitled “thank You aimEe,” further emphasized Ye.
