Kate Middleton Received Advice from Queen Elizabeth About Strong-Willed Partners Before Marrying Prince William
Kate Middleton’s First Meeting with Queen Elizabeth II Revealed in New Book
The first private meeting between Kate Middleton and the late Queen Elizabeth II is detailed in Russell Myers’s upcoming book, William and Catherine. During this significant encounter, the Queen reportedly shared words of encouragement with Middleton, who was understandably nervous ahead of her marriage to Prince William in 2011.
Myers recounts that the Queen used the meeting to offer advice about "headstrong husbands," suggesting that Middleton should focus on managing her new responsibilities rather than getting overwhelmed by details such as the wedding guest list. "During the light buffet of tea and finger sandwiches, the Queen eschewed questions about the finer details of the production and instead looked to comfort the young woman she hoped would successfully shape the institution for the next generation," Myers wrote.
The royal wedding attracted nearly 2,000 guests, with millions more watching the ceremony on television. According to Myers, the Queen reassured Middleton not to worry about how many people would attend, noting that "there were many she wouldn’t know and many she wouldn’t see again."
The intimate details shared in this book shed light on the supportive dynamic between the young royal and the monarch, emphasizing the timeless guidance that accompanied their relationship.
