"The most powerful style statement can often be restraint," Talbot remarked, emphasizing that each outfit donned by the Princess of Wales since the incident has been a repeat from her existing wardrobe, including her notable appearance at the BAFTAs.

Mountbatten-Windsor has been stripped of all royal titles and privileges, and his arrest continues to cast a shadow over the royal family. Despite making several appearances, Middleton’s presentation underscores the gravity of the situation.

In the wake of Andrew’s arrest, the Princess of Wales has exhibited a sense of "steadiness" through her clothing. Since February 19, she has consciously chosen pieces from her own closet, signaling resilience amid the family’s instability.

For instance, just two days after the arrest, on February 21, she re-wore a royal blue coat from Alexander McQueen at a rugby match. The day after, she attended the BAFTAs with her husband Prince William in a familiar blush pink Gucci gown.

On February 26, Middleton sported a burgundy coat from Alexander McQueen alongside a coordinated Me+Em blouse and pleated skirt during engagements in Wales. Additionally, on March 1, she honored St. David’s Day in a revisited red and black houndstooth Alessandra Rich dress.

Talbot theorizes that these choices convey deeper messages, suggesting they indicate "continuity, responsibility, and respect." She asserted that the act of recycling outfits is "very intentional," communicating both steadiness and humility.
