Hope Valley: 1874 Returns for Season 2 on Hallmark+
Hope Valley: 1874 has officially been renewed for a second season, marking a significant achievement for the series, which has been described as “the most successful launch of a Hallmark+ series to date.” The eight-episode second season is slated to debut in 2027, just ahead of the Season 1 finale on Thursday, May 7.
Starring in the series are Bethany Joy Lenz, Benjamin Ayres, Jill Hennessy, Roan Curtis, and Lachlan Quarmby, alongside Jedidiah Goodacre, Mila Morgan, Brad Abramenko, and Chelsea Hobbs.
Based on Janette Oke’s novel When Calls the Heart, the series delves into the early days of the frontier settlement that eventually became Hope Valley. It highlights the courage, resilience, and relationships that formed the foundation of the community beloved by viewers. Lenz plays Rebecca Clarke, a recent widow who, along with her 11-year-old daughter Sarah (Morgan), journeys to the Western Canadian frontier seeking a fresh start after her husband’s passing. Upon discovering that the boarding house she purchased sight unseen requires extensive renovations, Rebecca realizes the challenges ahead are far greater than she anticipated.
With the support of the local community—featuring rancher Tom Moore (Ayres), with whom she develops a close bond, and Hattie Quinn (Hennessy), a widow managing the trading post alongside her daughter Olivia (Curtis)—Rebecca and Sarah integrate into the settlement and start to find their place. Constable Alexander Vaughn (Quarmby) works to maintain peace between ranchers and gold prospectors while harboring feelings for Olivia, creating a love triangle with local blacksmith Clayton Cooley (Goodacre), who is also vying for her affection. As the season reaches its climax, unforeseen events cast uncertainty over their futures.
Hope Valley: 1874 is produced by All Canadian Entertainment, with executive producers including Brad Krevoy, Brian Bird, Michael Landon Jr., Amy Hartwick, Olivia Krevoy, Vicki Sotheran, Greg Malcolm, Alfonso Moreno, and Susie Belzberg. Mike Rohl and Elizabeth Stewart serve as co-executive producers, while Jennifer Siddle and Melody Fox are consulting producers.
“Hope Valley: 1874’s dream cast, led by Bethany Joy Lenz, Benjamin Ayres, and Jill Hennessy, has brought to life the rich characters and beautiful story crafted by showrunner Alfonso Moreno,” noted Michelle Vicary, Head of Programming at Hallmark Media. “Our fans and press alike have enthusiastically embraced the series, making it especially rewarding to continue telling this story.”
