History Channel Honors American Veterans with New Series for 250th Anniversary
The History Channel is set to honor veterans through a new video series commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. Titled Mission To Honor: A 250th Salute To American Veterans, the initiative will showcase impactful stories from those who have served.
Scheduled to premiere this spring across the network’s linear and digital platforms, the series will culminate in a one-hour primetime documentary event slated for Veterans Day 2026.
Among the veterans featured in the series are Paul Priest, a member of the Army’s 9th Armored Division during World War II; Louis Graziano, who fought on Omaha Beach on D-Day; and E. Royce Williams, a Korean War Navy pilot recognized with the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions. The lineup also includes Korean War veteran George Sousa, Vietnam War Medal of Honor recipient James McCloughan, and Lieutenant Colonel William Swenson, who earned the Medal of Honor for his bravery in Afghanistan.
The project is a collaboration with The White House and Freedom 250, and each story will be introduced by President Trump.
“For more than 30 years, honoring and telling the stories of the men and women who bravely served our nation has been central to The History Channel’s mission," said Paul Buccieri, President & Chairman of A+E Global Media. "Through these deeply personal stories and presidential tributes, we are pleased to partner with the White House to create a unifying national moment of gratitude during this historic milestone. Mission to Honor represents a unique opportunity to recognize the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of America’s veterans as part of our nation’s 250-year celebration.”
