“I’m beyond ready for it to belong to everyone else,” Abrams stated in an interview with People during a Chanel event at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on January 7.
She expressed her enthusiasm further, sharing, “I’ve never felt this way about anything I’ve made before, so it’s definitely driving me crazy in a good way.”
Reflecting on the anticipation surrounding her third album, Abrams noted, “I love the feeling. I really like it right now. I think I feel kind of calm about it. I’ve been lucky enough to spend a lot of time with it.”
She added, “At the end of the day, it’s all about the people you get to make things with and spend your time with, and that means the most to me right now. So, yeah, any day in the studio is a great day.”
While Abrams has not disclosed her current collaborators, she previously worked with producer Aaron Dessner from The National on her initial albums, including 2023’s Good Riddance and The Secret of Us, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
Notably, The Secret of Us features a Grammy-nominated duet with Taylor Swift titled “us.” Although the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance went to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars for “Die With a Smile,” Swift and Abrams performed “us.” live together during Swift’s Eras Tour, where Abrams was also an opening act at select dates.
While specifics about her upcoming album remain unconfirmed, fans may anticipate new sounds. Abrams recently performed two unreleased tracks—“Out of Nowhere” at Glastonbury and “Crazy Girl” at BST Hyde Park. Earlier in 2025, she debuted another song titled “Death Wish,” recorded live during her The Secret of Us Tour and released as a promotional track in April.
In recognition of her talent, Abrams received the award for Songwriter of the Year at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards held in March.
