Cher Encourages Dax Shepard to Appreciate Kristen Bell’s Worth

Cher’s Thoughts on Kristen Bell’s Partner

Cher, the iconic singer and actress, expressed her reservations about Dax Shepard as a partner for Kristen Bell during her guest appearance on the January 5 episode of Shepard’s podcast, Armchair Expert.

While discussing the dynamics of relationships, Shepard candidly acknowledged that Cher may not be entirely in favor of his partnership with Bell, whom he described affectionately. "Who would be your dream partner for her? ‘Cause I know you think she could be better, and I don’t disagree," he stated, referencing his wife.

In response, Cher did not propose an alternative partner for Bell but mentioned, “The truth is, I trust her. So you must have something that I don’t see.”

Cher and Bell first met while filming the 2010 musical Burlesque, where the pair developed a mutual respect. Cher, reflecting on their early days, noted, "We got along so well, and we were very sympatico, and I respected her a lot. I didn’t know who she was, but she was good."

During the podcast, Shepard defended his compatibility with Bell, asserting, “I’ll tell you the thing that you should like about me. I’m not threatened by her shining. Love it. The shinier she gets, the better.” Cher echoed this sentiment, citing her own relationship with Alexander “AE” Edwards, stating, "The more I shine, the more he has won."

Bell was quick to support Shepard, calling him a “slow burn” and declaring, “Guys who polish you so you shine more.”

As the conversation drew to a close, Shepard expressed his affection for Cher, stating, “I adore you, and I understand nobody’s good enough for her.” In return, Bell referred to Shepard as “almost too good for me.”

Cher remarked on Shepard’s parenting skills, saying, “You seem like a good dad,” to which Bell responded, “He’s the best dad there ever was.” In a light-hearted moment, Shepard joked, “I put on a good show when the guests are here. That was the first hug I’d given my daughter in two years. Just because you were here. I wanted to impress you.”
