Redlands Homeowner Defends Their Home Against Intruder with Shotgun, Police Report
A suspected armed intruder was injured late Thursday night after being shot by a homeowner in Redlands, according to police reports.
Officers received a call regarding the shooting just before midnight along Church Street near the 10 Freeway. Upon arrival, they discovered the homeowner had taken action after finding an intruder inside his residence.
The homeowner reportedly armed himself when the intruder, identified as 52-year-old Daniel Torres Carrion, pointed a shotgun at him. In response, the homeowner shot and injured Carrion before contacting authorities.
Investigating officers traced a blood trail from the scene to the backyard, where they found the wounded suspect. Both weapons involved in the incident were recovered at the location.
Carrion was arrested and subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
