On November 13, Wen made headlines after video footage captured him jumping a barricade and rushing towards Grande at the *Wicked* premiere. The incident featured Grande’s co-star, Cynthia Erivo, stepping in front of her to protect her.
After the altercation, Wen shared a video on Instagram, expressing gratitude to Grande, saying, “@arianagrande @wickedmovie Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You ❤️.”
Following the incident, Wen served nine days in jail after pleading guilty to a public nuisance charge on November 17. He was subsequently deported to Australia and banned from Singapore, as reported by various sources including BBC News and CBS News.
During a November 20 appearance on the *Today* show, Erivo described her thoughts during the chaotic moment: “I was really thinking, I just wanted to make sure my friend was safe… I wanted to make sure that she was okay. That was my first instinct.”
