Florida Man Taken into Custody in Ontario for Alleged Teen Kidnapping and Assault
ONTARIO, Calif. – A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and attempted rape of a minor in Ontario. The suspect, Brian Jamely Metelus, was taken into custody on Thursday after allegedly following the victim off a transit bus.
The incident occurred as the girl exited the bus. Police report that Metelus pursued her and forcibly assaulted her. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan intervened, enabling the victim to escape. Officers were able to apprehend Metelus shortly thereafter, although he attempted to flee the scene.
Authorities from the Ontario Police Department are treating this case as a high-priority investigation due to the serious nature of the charges and the potential for additional victims. Detectives are urging anyone who may have information regarding similar incidents to come forward.
Metelus has been booked into the West Valley Detention Center and is facing multiple felony charges, including kidnapping with intent to commit rape and attempted rape. He is currently being held on bail set at $2 million.
