Culver City Police Search for Possible Armed Suspect
Police Track Armed Suspect Following Shooting Threat at Westfield Culver City Mall
Culver City authorities are actively searching for a suspect who allegedly made a shooting threat at the Westfield Culver City mall on Saturday afternoon.
Around 3:15 p.m., the Culver City Police Department received reports of a man claiming he intended to open fire in the mall. Responding officers quickly located an individual matching the description of the suspect.
The suspect, described as a man in his 30s, fled the scene on foot. In light of the unfolding situation, police advised the public to steer clear of the area surrounding Slauson and Hannum avenues, near the 90 Freeway. The police activity in that area concluded shortly before 5:30 p.m., but the suspect remains at large.
At this time, no injuries have been reported, and the investigation continues.
