Cannes Red Carpet Premiere of ‘Fatherland’: Highlights with Demi Moore, Seth Rogen, Chloé Zhao, and More
‘Fatherland’ Premieres at Cannes Film Festival
The 2026 Cannes Film Festival kicked off with a star-studded premiere of Fatherland, directed by Paweł Pawlikowski. The event drew significant attention, featuring appearances from the film’s cast, including Lukasz Zal, Hanns Zischler, Sandra Hüller, and August Diehl.
Among the high-profile attendees were Demi Moore, Seth Rogen, Chloé Zhao, Diane Kruger, Sara Sampaio, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, all of whom graced the festival’s iconic red carpet.
Fatherland explores the emotional relationship between renowned author Thomas Mann, portrayed by Hanns Zischler, and his daughter Erika, played by Sandra Hüller. Set during the Cold War, the narrative follows their poignant road trip across a Germany still reeling from the aftermath of conflict, traveling in a black Buick from U.S.-occupied Frankfurt to Soviet-controlled Weimar.
Pawlikowski reunites with his established filmmaking team, which includes cinematographer Lukasz Zal and production designers Aleksandra Staszko, Katarzyna Sobańska, and Marcel Sławiński. International sales for the film are being handled by The Match Factory, while Mubi holds distribution rights in several key markets including North America, Latin America, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Benelux, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, and India.
The premiere provided an opportunity to celebrate both the film and its creative forces, hinting at the potential impact Fatherland may have in the cinematic landscape ahead.
