Baz Luhrmann’s ‘EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert’ to Feature Live Performances and Classic Remixes

Sony Legacy Recordings and RCA Records will release the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s film EPiC: Elvis Presley Live in Concert on February 20. This extensive 27-track collection will feature a mix of updated remixes of iconic live recordings and new medleys of classic songs by Elvis Presley, including Jamieson Shaw remixes of “In the Ghetto” and “Love Me,” along with a PNAU remix of “Don’t Fly Away.”

The soundtrack will coincide with the theatrical release of the film, which is set to debut in IMAX for a week, followed by a global release from NEON and Universal Pictures on February 27. During the production of his 2022 biopic Elvis, Luhrmann and his team uncovered a collection of long-hidden film negatives and footage in the Warner Brothers vault, drawn from the documentaries Elvis: The Way It Is—chronicling the singer’s August 1970 Las Vegas residency—and Elvis On Tour, which captures his 1972 U.S. tour. This treasure trove also includes never-before-seen 8mm footage and unheard audio of Presley reflecting on his life.
After a lengthy restoration process involving Oscar nominee Jonathan Redmond and Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post Production team, Luhrmann described the material as revealing a fuller picture of Presley in his element, connecting intimately with his fans through an unparalleled performance energy. The announcement of the soundtrack coincided with what would have been Elvis’s 91st birthday, as he passed away at the age of 42 on August 16, 1977.
Luhrmann’s Elvis has grossed over $288 million globally, securing the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s list of the highest-grossing music biopics of all time.
In addition to the digital and CD releases on February 20, a 2-LP vinyl edition of EPiC is scheduled for April 24. A preview of the track “Wearin’ That Night Life Look” is available for listening here.
