Elon Musk recently provided rare insights into his family, commenting on social media about the inspiration behind the names of his four-year-old twins, Strider and Azure.
On January 8, Musk, 54, interacted with a post from Tesla Owners Silicon Valley on X, which included a photo of him alongside the twins. He revealed that their unique names draw inspiration from popular culture, specifically The Lord of the Rings.
“Me with my son, Stroder Sekhar (named after Aragorn & great Indian physicist Chandrasekhar) and daughter, Comet Azure, named after the most powerful spell in Elden Ring,” he shared in his comment.

Musk’s journey into fatherhood began in 2002, when his ex-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson, gave birth to their first son, Nevada Alexander, who sadly passed away shortly thereafter. The couple later welcomed five more children, including twins Vivian and Griffin, as well as triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian.
In 2020, Musk and singer Grimes celebrated the birth of their first child, X Æ A-12. They have since welcomed two additional children: daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, and son Techno Mechanicus.
In a private revelation, Musk fathered Strider and Azure, with Shivon Zilis, an executive at his company Neuralink, in November 2021. They also welcomed a daughter, Arcadia, in February 2024.
In February 2025, Ashley St. Clair announced the birth of their child, named Romulus. Zilis subsequently revealed they had secretly welcomed a fourth child, son Seldon Lycurgus, although specifics regarding his birth remain unclear.

In a previous statement, he mentioned aspirations to have a "legion-level" of children before the apocalypse, indicating a strong commitment to fatherhood.
