Following the conclusion of Hulu’s acclaimed adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale earlier this year, the narrative will extend into a sequel series titled The Testaments.
The show, produced by Bruce Miller and Warren Littlefield, continues to explore the dystopian world established in The Handmaid’s Tale, featuring a significant time jump post-series.

Hulu has announced that The Testaments is set to premiere in April 2026, a year after production commenced in April 2025.

Ann Dowd will reprise her role as Aunt Lydia from The Handmaid’s Tale, accompanied by Chase Infiniti and Lucy Halliday, who will portray two of the three main leads alongside Dowd.
The cast also includes Mabel Li, Amy Seimetz, Brad Alexander, Zarrin Darnell-Martin, Eva Foote, Isolde Ardies, Shechinah Mpumlwana, Birva Pandya, and Kira Guloien.
Plot Overview
Set 15 years after the conclusion of The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments draws inspiration from Margaret Atwood’s book of the same name. The series follows the intertwined lives of three women: Aunt Lydia (Dowd), Agnes (Infiniti), and Daisy (Halliday), as they navigate the secrets of Gilead and the growing resistance against its oppressive regime.
