Drake continues to assert his dominance this New Music Friday with the release of three solo studio albums: Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour. Collectively featuring 43 tracks and collaborations with artists such as Future, Molly Santana, Sexyy Red, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and 21 Savage, these albums are poised to shape the music landscape for months to come.
Latin music icon Maluma also made headlines with his new album, Loco X Volver, which emphasizes his family ties and Colombian heritage. The week saw additional offerings from Mýa (Retrospect), Tone Stith (The Edge), Givēon (Beloved: Act II), Shaggy (Lottery), Stella Lefty (Is This Heaven? EP), Kenny Mason (Bulldawg), Lucki (Dr*gs R Bad), Lady Gaga (Apple Music Live: MAYHEM Requiem), and Tank and the Bangas (The Last Balloon).
On the singles front, Madonna collaborated with Peggy Gou for an upbeat remix of “I Feel So Free,” which is part of the highly anticipated Confessions II. Gracie Abrams also debuted her new single, “Hit the Wall,” the lead track from her upcoming album Daughter From Hell. This song, created with longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner, marks a significant step into a more mature phase for the Grammy-nominated artist. Similarly, Tove Lo unveiled “I’m Your Girl Right?” as the lead single from her forthcoming LP Estrus, offering a dance-floor-ready vibe.
Rostam, a founding member of Vampire Weekend, collaborated with Clairo on the track “Hardy,” a highlight from his new album American Stories. Jorja Smith embraced a club atmosphere with her single “What’s Done Is Done,” while Lenny Tavárez temporarily shifted from his reggaetonero persona to deliver a cumbia-infused salsa track titled “Pa’ Lo Bonito.”
This week also featured new singles from artists including Becky G (“EPA”), Skilla Baby (“GYSM”), Kameron Marlowe (“Running”), Paul Wall (“Elbow Room”), Maren Morris (“Parachute”), Shakira and Burna Boy (“Dai Dai”), Little Big Town (“Hey There Sunshine”), Dan + Shay (“Young”), Miranda Lambert (“Crisco”), and Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran (“Repeat It”).
