Perfect Crown Gains Popularity on Disney+ and Hulu with Over 43 Million Hours Watched Since Launch
The romantic comedy Perfect Crown has emerged as a significant success in the streaming landscape, amassing over 43 million hours viewed worldwide on Disney+ and Hulu, according to data from the Walt Disney Company.
The series has demonstrated consistent audience growth, with a notable 43% increase in views for Episode 8 compared to its premiere. Based on data from the first seven days, Perfect Crown is now the top Korean title of all time on Disney+ and Hulu. Disney has highlighted the series as the “most globally traveled Korean premiere on Disney+ to date,” based on 28 days of viewing data. It ranks as the number one show in the USA and Canada, as well as in regions including EMEA, LATAM, Germany, Spain, the UK, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Australia.
The plot centers on Grand Prince I-AN, who finds himself entangled in a power struggle within the royal family. Under pressure to marry, he enters into a marriage of convenience with Huiju, the heir to a major Korean conglomerate. As they collaborate to further their individual agendas, unexpected emotions complicate their arrangement.
The series stars IU, known for her roles in When Life Gives You Tangerines and My Mister, as Huiju, and Byeon Wooseok, recognized for his performances in Lovely Runner and Strong Girl Nam-soon, as Grand Prince I-AN. Directed by Park Joonhwa, whose credits include Alchemy of Souls and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, the series is penned by writer Yoo Jiwon.
The two-episode season finale is set to premiere over the weekend.
