Tubi Appoints Former TikTok and CBC Executive Gave Lindo as Its First General Manager in Canada
Gave Lindo Appointed First General Manager of Tubi Canada
Gave Lindo has been named Tubi’s inaugural General Manager for Canada, taking on the role at the free streaming service’s newly established Toronto office. Lindo, who previously held executive positions at TikTok and CBC, will now lead Tubi’s efforts in expanding its footprint in the Canadian market.
Lindo brings a wealth of digital expertise to Tubi, a subsidiary of Fox. He served as Executive Director of OTT Programming at CBC, where he oversaw the broadcaster’s digital platforms, including CBC.ca and CBC Kids. He was instrumental in launching the CBC Gem streaming service, as well as developing original content and commissioning strategies for various digital outlets.
Most recently, Lindo was the Head of Content Programming for North America at TikTok. In this capacity, he directed content strategy and editorial operations, overseeing original live productions and cross-platform initiatives.
“I’m thrilled to join Tubi and build on the strong foundation the team has created,” Lindo stated. “The business has delivered impressive results, and I look forward to helping drive continued success and further expanding Tubi’s presence in the Canadian market.”
Lindo will report to David Salmon, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, International, at Tubi. “We’ve been encouraged by Tubi’s strong momentum, with Canadian viewers watching more than 100 million hours in Q1 2026,” Salmon noted. “Following the opening of Tubi’s newest office in Toronto last month, we’re pleased to welcome Gave as we continue to expand our presence in this growing market.”
Salmon emphasized Lindo’s leadership experience across various digital and streaming platforms as pivotal for Tubi’s next growth phase in Canada.
Since 2020, Tubi has experienced a 30% annual growth in monthly active users in Canada. The company recently inaugurated a 10,000 sq. ft. office in Toronto, which will support its substantial lineup of 220,000 films and TV episodes.
On the commercial front, Tubi has partnered with Bell Media, which owns CTV, the Crave streaming service, and numerous cable channels. Bell Media now exclusively manages Canadian advertising sales for Tubi, contributing to an audience that includes one in three Canadians aged 18 and over.
