Austrian goalkeeper Alex Manninger has tragically passed away at the age of 48 following a reported train accident near Salzburg on Thursday.
Manninger, who had a notable career, earned 33 caps for the Austrian national team. He is perhaps best remembered for his time at Arsenal, where he made 64 appearances and contributed to the team’s success in securing both the Premier League and FA Cup titles in 1998, serving primarily as a backup goalkeeper.
