Travis Kelce had better knock on wood!
The 36-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end overlooked a clear reference to Taylor Swift’s widely-discussed song “Wood” during the January 21 episode of his podcast, New Heights.
During the segment, Travis’s older brother, Jason Kelce, read a fan comment regarding their merchandise that left him puzzled.
“I can’t believe none of the hoodies are called ‘New Heights of Man-Hoodie,'” Jason quoted before adding, “I don’t know what that means, but she’s disappointed.”
The father of four then inquired, “What’s a ‘man-hoodie’? Is that even a thing?”
Producer Brandon Borders interjected, explaining, “It’s a Life of a Showgirl reference. ‘New Heights of manhood’ is where you were mentioned in the album.”
After a moment of reflection, Travis admitted, “I didn’t understand that. Taylor’s gonna kill me for not knowing!”
Jason then remarked, “We’re not as good with the Easter eggs as these Swifties,” to which Travis responded, “They sure know how to plant and call them out.”

Swift’s song “Wood” has garnered widespread attention for its suggestive lyrics and references to Travis.
The track features lines such as: “Forgive me, it sounds cocky / He ah-matized me and opened my eyes,” and “Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see / His love was the key that opened my thighs.”
The fan’s commented lyric references Swift’s line, “New Heights of manhood / I ain’t gotta knock on wood.”

This is not the first instance of the Kelce brothers discussing “Wood” on their podcast. Following the release of The Life of a Showgirl in October 2025, Jason asked Travis for his opinion on the track.
“Do you feel, do you feel — not confident — do you feel cocky about the song ‘Wood’?” Jason had teased.
“No,” Travis replied, adding, “Any song that she references me in is very…”
“That’s not just any song. This is a very specific you,” Jason interjected.
Staying true to his innocent demeanor, Travis countered, “I love that girl, so what do you mean? Any song that she would reference me in that way…”
However, Jason was not letting it go, stating, “It’s not just you. It’s an appendage. It’s a very specific thing.”
“What?” Travis joked. “I think you’re not understanding the song.”
