LONG BEACH, Calif. — A tragic hit-and-run crash late Sunday night resulted in the deaths of two individuals at a major intersection, with three others sustaining injuries, according to local authorities.
The collision occurred around 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Sixth Street and Atlantic Avenue. Investigators believe the driver of one vehicle ran a red light, initiating a three-car crash that caused one vehicle to overturn, ejecting its occupants.
Emergency responders pronounced a man and a woman dead at the scene. Meanwhile, three other parties involved were transported to the hospital for further treatment.
The suspect involved in the crash fled the scene, abandoning a vehicle that authorities identified as stolen.
