THE STORY AT A GLANCE
- Steve Schenberg, known on TikTok as “Husband TikTok,” chronicled his efforts to attend the Grammys without an official ticket.
- Schenberg’s endeavors began with a video request to singer Demi Lovato to collaborate during the Grammys weekend.
- Driven by determination, Schenberg traveled to Los Angeles to experience Music’s Biggest Night.
Through persistence and creativity, Steve Schenberg, popularly known as “Husband TikTok,” managed to reach the Grammy Awards despite lacking an official invitation. Schenberg’s journey stemmed from a TikTok post on January 29 in which he approached Demi Lovato about collaborating on a video during the prestigious music event.
This endeavor unfolded into a captivating 16-part series where Schenberg documented his preparations and attempts to gain entry to the awards show, showcasing his knack for engaging with celebrities. His collaborations span a wide array of artists, from the Jonas Brothers to Landon Barker. In pitching his concept to Lovato, he stated, “Who have I done this with? The Jonas Brothers. “Okay, real talk,” Schenberg stated in a follow-up video, indicating his intentions. “I’m going out to L.A. this weekend. I do not have an invite to the Grammys, and I do not have a collab lined up with Demi Lovato, but I’m going.” After receiving his wife’s support, Schenberg expedited his travel plans to Los Angeles, despite being ticketless.
Throughout his updates, he expressed both excitement and uncertainty, acknowledging, “This thing could fall apart in two seconds,” yet maintaining a hopeful outlook. By connecting with his audience, he shared anecdotes of his encounters, including a chance meeting with Addison Rae and making it into a pre-Grammys party without an invitation.
Schenberg’s persistence paid off significantly when influencer Tana Mongeau announced in a video that she had two tickets to the Grammys. He responded to this by pleading with her to bring him along. A few hours later, dressed for the event but still without a ticket, he updated his followers, revealing he was just two blocks away from the venue.
Ultimately, Schenberg managed to post a picture from inside the Grammys, captioning it with Demi Lovato’s song from Camp Rock, “This Is Me.” He later recounted how, despite not holding a legitimate ticket, a follower’s invitation to a pre-Grammys party led to his unauthorized entry. “I showed the VIP ticket to security guards at every checkpoint, convincing them I was allowed through,” he explained.
As the final hurdle of security unfolded, an unexpected turn of fate occurred when two women recognized him and exclaimed, “Husband! Effing! TikTok! What? You got in?” This recognition allowed him to bypass the final security guard, leading to his unforgettable experience at the Grammys. “And that is how I got in the Grammys. I did not have a ticket. I did not buy a ticket,” Schenberg concluded, inspiring followers with his message: “If you believe you can do it, I promise you, you can do it.”
