President Donald Trump has threatened legal action against comedian Trevor Noah following a joke that linked him to Jeffrey Epstein’s private island during the 2026 Grammy Awards. Noah quipped, “That is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein’s island is gone; he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
In his response, Trump called Noah “a total loser” and warned him to “get his facts straight.” The statement was made hours after Noah hosted the awards show for the final time, where he made the controversial remark.
Noah’s joke referenced a history of connections between various public figures and Epstein, who has been implicated in numerous sex trafficking crimes. Bill Clinton, who has faced scrutiny for connections to Epstein, was mentioned in Noah’s joke. Clinton has not been accused of wrongdoing concerning Epstein and has denied any knowledge of his illegal activities.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump asserted that Noah’s accusation was false. “Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island,” he wrote. “WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close.”

Following the awards ceremony, Trump criticized the Grammy Awards, labeling them “the WORST” and “virtually unwatchable.” He expressed satisfaction with Noah’s departure from the hosting role, stating, “CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer.” He further compared Noah unfavorably to fellow comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who has also faced criticism for low ratings.
Trump concluded with a stark warning for Noah, stating, “It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty$. Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”
In the wake of renewed scrutiny regarding his former friendship with Epstein, some photographs of Trump were released by the House Oversight Committee. The images displayed Trump alongside various women, their faces obscured. In another instance, a caricature of Trump appeared on novelty “Trump Condoms,” leading to further discussion around his past associations.
White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson defended Trump, claiming that House Democrats were selectively releasing photos to create a misleading narrative. “The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked,” she stated, affirming the administration’s commitment to addressing Epstein’s cases and calling for further inquiry into the connections of other public figures with Epstein.
