Madonna and Peggy Gou’s “I Feel So Free (Peggy Gou Energy Mix)” has emerged as the top choice in this week’s Billboard new music poll, showcasing listeners’ enthusiasm for dance music.
Listeners voted on a poll released on Friday, May 15, selecting this dynamic remix as their favorite release of the week. The poll included notable competition from Drake’s historic triple album drop, alongside new works from Maluma, Gracie Abrams, and Givēon.
This single serves as a preview of Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II, set to be released on July 3. This album marks her first full-length project in seven years and is a highly anticipated sequel to her influential 2005 dance record, Confessions on a Dance Floor.

The original track “I Feel So Free” was co-produced by Stuart Price, who also worked on the original Confessions on a Dance Floor and has acted as musical director for various Madonna tours. The Peggy Gou remix reimagines the song as a lively, high-energy club anthem that showcases Gou’s signature house style, following her breakthrough success with the 2023 hit “(It Goes Like) Nanana.”
Madonna first previewed the track during a surprise appearance at Sabrina Carpenter’s Coachella set last month, where they also performed “Like a Prayer” and teased another new song from Confessions II.
This week’s poll faced tough competition from Drake, who made waves with a substantial triple album release. His project includes Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour, totaling 43 tracks and featuring collaborations with Future, Molly Santana, Sexyy Red, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and 21 Savage.
Maluma also garnered attention with his latest album, Loco X Volver, focusing on themes of family and cultural roots.
Gracie Abrams contributed to the discussion with “Hit the Wall,” a lead single from her upcoming album Daughter From Hell. This track, produced by Aaron Dessner, signals a more mature direction in her artistry. Tove Lo’s “I’m Your Girl Right?” offers a dance-floor-friendly glimpse into her forthcoming Estrus LP, while Rostam and Clairo collaborated on the song “Hardy” from Rostam’s album American Stories.
In addition, Jorja Smith’s “What’s Done Is Done” showcased a deeper underground sound, while Shakira and Burna Boy’s collaboration “Dai Dai” and the reunion of Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran on “Repeat It” added to the week’s notable releases. Full projects were also released by Givēon (Beloved: Act II), Shaggy (Lottery), Kenny Mason (Bulldawg), Mýa (Retrospect), Tone Stith (The Edge), and Tank and the Bangas (The Last Balloon).
