Taylor Kitsch, Diego Luna, Jason Isaacs, and Rhea Seehorn Star in Prison Siege Thriller ‘Eleven Days’ as It Joins EFM with Lucky Number 8 Media
Prison Siege Thriller "Eleven Days" Set for European Film Market Debut
The prison siege thriller Eleven Days is poised to make its sales debut at the upcoming European Film Market. The film marks the inaugural feature from Lucky Number 8 Media, a newly formed sales firm emerging from a collaboration between Texas-based Lucky Number 8 Productions and Daniel Diamond’s Luminosity Pictures.
This newly established entity will manage international sales for Eleven Days as well as future projects under the Lucky Number 8 banner.
Based on William T. Harper’s book 11 Days in Hell, the film narrates the gripping true story of one of the most harrowing prison sieges in American history. Taylor Kitsch stars as Jim Estelle, the newly appointed head of the Texas Department of Corrections, who finds himself at the center of a life-or-death standoff at the State Penitentiary in Huntsville. Faced with a hostage crisis instigated by notorious narco kingpin Federico Carrasco, played by Diego Luna, Estelle must engage in relentless negotiations to save the lives of both inmates and prison staff, including the prison’s priest, portrayed by Jason Isaacs, and librarian Rhea Seehorn.
The film’s ensemble cast also features Jennifer Carpenter, Jeffrey Donovan, Lola Kirke, Tenoch Huerta, John Gallagher Jr., and Richard Cabral.
Currently in post-production, Eleven Days was developed and produced by Vincent Newman and Vance Howard from Lucky Number Eight. Peter Landesman directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Kevin Sheridan.
Lucky Number Eight’s upcoming slate includes Crossroads, the rom-com 40 Dates in 40 Nights, and the documentary Luv Ya Bum!, which debuted at SXSW.
"Having the opportunity to make this film wasn’t just a filmmaking honor; it became a sacred act," Landesman remarked. "It is a suspenseful thriller based on a true but little-known story, filmed in the actual prison where these events occurred. The dream cast delivered performances of a lifetime, making Eleven Days elevated entertainment that looks like a painting and moves like a freight train."
Vance Howard added, "This story reflects universal themes of courage and sacrifice. I was determined to honor those who displayed these rare traits in the face of pure evil. I am proud of what Peter, Vincent, and this incredible cast have accomplished."
Diamond, President of Luminosity, expressed excitement about the collaboration: "This film is nothing short of cinematic brilliance. I am thrilled to partner with Vance, Vincent, Peter, and the amazing cast to bring it to audiences worldwide. This marks the beginning of what I hope will be many incredible films through our new partnership."
