Taylor Kitsch, Diego Luna, Jason Isaacs, and Rhea Seehorn Star in New Prison Siege Thriller ‘Eleven Days’ as It Joins EFM with Lucky Number 8 Media
Prison Siege Thriller ‘Eleven Days’ to Debut at European Film Market
The highly anticipated prison siege thriller Eleven Days is set to launch sales next month at the European Film Market. This marks the inaugural feature from Lucky Number 8 Media, a newly established sales firm created as a joint venture between Texas-based Lucky Number 8 Productions and Daniel Diamond’s Luminosity Pictures.
The venture will focus on international sales for Eleven Days and future projects from Lucky Number 8.
Based on William T. Harper’s book 11 Days in Hell, the film recounts one of the most harrowing prison sieges in American history. Friday Night Lights actor Taylor Kitsch portrays Jim Estelle, the newly appointed head of the Texas Department of Corrections, who finds himself in a critical standoff at the State Penitentiary in Huntsville. The crisis is instigated by notorious narco kingpin Federico Carrasco, played by Diego Luna of Andor, as part of a meticulously orchestrated escape. Estelle must engage in relentless negotiations to secure the safety of both inmates and prison staff, including the prison’s priest, Jason Isaacs of The White Lotus, and librarian Rhea Seehorn of Pluribus.
The cast also features Jennifer Carpenter, Jeffrey Donovan, Lola Kirke, Tenoch Huerta, John Gallagher Jr., and Richard Cabral.
Currently in post-production, the film was developed and produced by Vincent Newman, known for We’re The Millers, and Vance Howard of Lucky Number 8. Peter Landesman, who directed and co-wrote the screenplay, shared his sentiments about the project: “Having the opportunity to make this film wasn’t just a filmmaking honor, it became a sacred act. A suspenseful thriller plot based on a true but little-known story; the actual live prison where this very story took place as our central location; a dream cast that gave us the performances of their careers — these were the elements that make Eleven Days elevated entertainment. It looks like a painting and moves like a freight train.”
Howard added, “Eleven Days is a ‘truth is stranger than fiction’ story, with universal themes about courage and sacrifice. In telling it, I was determined to honor the people that summoned these rare traits in the face of pure evil. I am very proud of what Peter, Vincent, and this incredible cast have delivered. I am glad to have Daniel and Luminosity as partners in bringing this film to audiences around the world.”
Daniel Diamond, President of Luminosity, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This film is nothing short of cinematic brilliance and I am thrilled beyond words to help Vance, Vincent, Peter, and all the amazing cast and filmmakers bring it to worldwide audiences. This is only the first in what I hope will be many incredible films by our new partnership.”
Kitsch is represented by CAA and Untitled Entertainment, while Luna is represented by WME. Seehorn is with UTA and Untitled Entertainment, and Isaacs is represented by The Gersh Agency and Strand Entertainment. Director Peter Landesman is also represented by CAA and Manage-Ment.
