Taron Egerton in Talks for Hal Ozsan’s London Finance Thriller ‘Alpha’ at Netflix UK
EXCLUSIVE: Netflix UK has secured the Hal Ozsan-written feature project Alpha, following a competitive bidding war involving eight parties. Taron Egerton, known for his roles in Rocketman and Carry-On, is reportedly being considered for a lead role.
Netflix declined to provide further comments on the acquisition.
Alpha is described as a provocative genre film that delves into themes of toxic masculinity, greed, and the allure of success. The narrative follows a mild-mannered American analyst as he ascends the ranks of a ruthless investment firm in London, only to confront a more terrifying reality: the monstrous ambition growing within him. The project draws comparisons to American Psycho, the HBO Max series Industry, and American Werewolf in London.
Aperture Entertainment, led by Adam Goldworm, alongside Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold’s Safehouse Pictures, are producing the film.
