Story Kitchen Collaborates with ‘Steal A Brainrot’ Creators for Roblox Game Adaptation
EXCLUSIVE: Story Kitchen, a production company dedicated to adapting video games for film and television, is entering early development on a Steal a Brainrot movie in collaboration with the creators of the popular Roblox game.
Since its launch in May, Steal a Brainrot has captivated players who strive to buy, collect, and steal “brainrots” — quirky, meme-inspired characters and items. The game boasts over 55 billion visits and enjoys one of the most active communities on Roblox. Its rapid rise can be attributed to an engaging gameplay loop that combines strategy, humor, and unpredictability. Notably, the game achieved a peak of 25.8 million concurrent players in October 2025, and recently made headlines by hosting a concert featuring Bruno Mars.
The forthcoming film adaptation aims to capture the game’s unique blend of chaos, humor, and competitive spirit. It promises to immerse viewers in a fast-paced environment where each victory could lead to substantial rewards, while every misstep could derail progress, positioning rivals just one move away from reclaiming their gains.
Story Kitchen is partnering with Do Big Studios and Spyder Games on this project. The team leading the film includes Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, Timothy I. Stevenson, and Elena Sandoval, with production support from Think Influence, representing the creators of Steal a Brainrot.
In a joint statement, Story Kitchen co-founders Johnson and Goldberg expressed their excitement, stating, “We’re thrilled to bring STEAL A BRAINROT to the big screen,” and humorously concluded with the phrase, “Noobini Pizzanini 6-7.”
Since its establishment in 2022, Story Kitchen has rapidly emerged as a significant player in screen adaptations of popular games. The company is also working on adaptations of notable titles such as Tomb Raider for Amazon MGM & Netflix, Life Is Strange, Teddy Ruxpin, and Just Cause, along with SEGA’s classic games like Streets of Rage, Shinobi, and Toejam & Earl. Additionally, Story Kitchen is adapting several acclaimed indie games, including Split Fiction, the 2021 Game of the Year It Takes Two, Sifu, and Ruiner.
Furthermore, Story Kitchen has secured a first-look deal for television content with Amazon MGM Studios, along with an animated film deal at DreamWorks. The company is represented by WME and Pryor Cashman and has an exclusive partnership with Moonrock, which facilitated the collaboration on Steal a Brainrot.
