New Zealand Actress Simone Kessell Joins ‘Honeymoon with Harry’ Cast
New Zealand actress Simone Kessell, known for her role in Yellowjackets, has been cast in the upcoming Amazon MGM dramedy Honeymoon with Harry. She will star alongside notable actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Kevin Costner, Sarah Pidgeon, Rita Ora, and Orville “Shaggy” Burrell.
Details regarding Kessell’s specific role in the film have not been disclosed. Honeymoon with Harry, currently in production in Australia, is adapted from Bart Baker’s bestselling novel. The plot centers around a rugged man, portrayed by Gyllenhaal, who embarks on an unexpected journey with his fiancée’s overprotective father, played by Costner, after a life-altering event disrupts their plans.
The film is directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, based on a script by Dan Fogelman. Fogelman will also serve as a producer alongside Mike Karz from Gulfstream Pictures and Jennifer Salke, representing her new Sullivan Street Productions.
Kessell’s recent credits include The Last Frontier on Apple TV, Yellowjackets on Showtime, and Hard Home on Paramount+. She has appeared in Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+, ABC’s The Crossing, and Netflix’s Pine Gap. Upcoming projects for Kessell include the Amazon action thriller Subversion, co-starring Chris Hemsworth and Lily James.
Her previous work encompasses appearances in Brad Peyton’s San Andreas, the film The Lovers with Josh Hartnett, HBO Max’s Our Flag Means Death, and the Steven Spielberg-produced series Terra Nova, as well as Australian dramas Wellmania, Wonderland, and Critical Incident.
