Shooting in Sylmar Leaves One Person Dead and Another Injured
Double Shooting in Sylmar Under Investigation
LOS ANGELES – A double shooting in Sylmar has left one man dead and a woman hospitalized in critical condition, authorities confirmed Thursday morning.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to a call at approximately 7:15 a.m. regarding the incident in the 14600 block of Rex Street, near Glenoaks Boulevard and Tyler Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two 50-year-old victims, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
LAPD officials reported that a suspect has been taken into custody. However, the names of both victims and the suspect have not yet been released. The motive behind the shooting and the events leading up to it are still under investigation.
