Season 2 of ‘Untamed’: Where It Was Filmed and What to Expect in Eric Bana’s Netflix Series
At the conclusion of the Untamed finale, Eric Bana’s character, Special Agent Kyle Turner, was depicted leaving Yosemite National Park, where he had spent several years, to embark on a new journey.
The destination for Turner has now been disclosed; it includes air travel to Hawaii. Season 2 of the mystery thriller, produced by Warner Bros. TV and John Wells Productions, will be set in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, where a new case draws Turner into the heart of the islands.
This season follows Special Agent Kyle Turner as he investigates a mysterious death within the park, where escalating local tensions and the dynamic, ever-changing landscape present significant challenges.
In contrast to Season 1, which was filmed in British Columbia, Canada, posing as Yosemite, Season 2 will be shot on location in Hawaii. John Wells Productions and WBTV previously collaborated on the Fox series Rescue HI-Surf. Specific filming locations have yet to be announced. Similar to the first season, the second will comprise six episodes, with production scheduled to commence in the spring.
“We’re excited to explore the pristine landscapes and cultural identity of a very different national park, and find Turner in a new state of mind, outside the comfort of Yosemite,” stated series co-showrunners and executive producers Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith.
Released on July 17, 2025, Untamed debuted at #1 on the Netflix Global Top 10, remaining in the top 10 for seven consecutive weeks. According to the streamer’s semi-annual report, it became the third most-watched title on Netflix in the latter half of 2025, accumulating 92.8 million views.
Due to the limited series’ impressive ratings, Untamed was granted a second season. Executive producers for the show include Mark L. Smith, Elle Smith, Eric Bana, John Wells, and Erin Jontow from John Wells Productions, along with Todd Black and Tony Shaw from Escape Artists Entertainment, Steve Lee Jones from Bee Holder Productions, and Cliff Roberts from Syndicate Entertainment.
