Ernie Hudson Teams Up with Alexander Ludwig and Emma Roberts in New Indie Film ‘Hal’
Ernie Hudson Joins Cast of Indie Drama ‘Hal’
Ernie Hudson, known for his work on Grace and Frankie, has officially signed on to star in the indie drama Hal, alongside Alexander Ludwig and Emma Roberts. This project, based on a true story, is set to enter production soon in Atlanta.
While Hudson’s specific role has not yet been disclosed, Hal tells the compelling story of Hal Donaldson, a journalist whose early adversities shape his belief that his voice is his path forward. His life takes a significant turn when he meets Doree, a talented musician, whose relationship with him provides stability as he navigates a career filled with challenges.
As Donaldson confronts firsthand crises and inequality, he finds the distinction between merely observing and taking action increasingly blurred. This realization propels him toward a calling that demands more than just storytelling, ultimately leading to the founding of the humanitarian organization Convoy of Hope.
The film is directed by Mark Williams, recognized for his work on Ozark and The Accountant, with a screenplay crafted by Mark Edwin Robinson.
Hudson, celebrated for his roles in the Ghostbusters franchise, The Crow, and The Family Business, continues to add to his impressive portfolio. He is also set to appear in A24’s upcoming film Famous and lend his voice to Combat Carl in Toy Story 5. Hudson is represented by Independent Artist Group and Zero Gravity Management.
