Salvation Army Captain Charged with Possessing Child Pornography in Santa Monica
Arrest of Salvation Army Captain Linked to Child Sexual Abuse Material
A captain working for the Santa Monica Salvation Army has been arrested on charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material, as confirmed by the Santa Monica Police Department.
Ty Michael Baze, 54, was taken into custody on April 10 without incident. He is facing felony charges, including possession of obscene matter depicting a minor engaged in sexual acts. Jail records indicate that Baze’s profession was listed as a pastor.
As of Thursday afternoon, he was being held on $250,000 bail. In response to the arrest, the Salvation Army stated that Baze has been placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Attempts to reach Baze for comment were unsuccessful.
