Rhys Ifans Takes Center Stage in the New ‘Star City’ Trailer for the ‘For All Mankind’ Spinoff
Apple TV has unveiled the official trailer for Star City, a new spinoff of the acclaimed series For All Mankind.
Created by Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore, Star City offers a unique perspective on the space race, focusing on the events from the Soviet Union’s viewpoint.
According to the show’s logline, Star City is described as a gripping thriller that revisits a pivotal moment in the alternate history of the space race: when the Soviet Union successfully sent a man to the moon. The narrative delves into the lives of cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers within the Soviet space program, revealing the risks they undertook to advance humanity’s exploration of space.
The cast includes notable actors such as Rhys Ifans, Anna Maxwell Martin, Agnes O’Casey, Alice Englert, Solly McLeod, Adam Nagaitis, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Josef Davies, and Priya Kansara.
Wolpert and Nedivi will serve as showrunners, with Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, alongside Andrew Chambliss and Steve Oster, as executive producers. Star City is produced for Apple TV by Sony Pictures Television.
The eight-episode series is set to premiere globally on Apple TV with two episodes on May 29, followed by weekly releases every Friday until July 10.
