The 54-year-old Gayheart and 78-year-old Morton have been linked since their first public sighting earlier this year. Gayheart is currently navigating life following her separation from actor Eric Dane, her husband of 14 years, which began in 2018.

In a recent podcast interview on "Broad Ideas," Gayheart reflected on her eight-year separation, revealing that she continues to prioritize her daughters, Billie and Georgia, who live with her full-time. “I try to stay optimistic… I’m trying to learn from it and [be a] role model for them,” she shared. Gayheart acknowledged the challenges of maintaining a supportive environment for her children during a difficult time.

Regarding her dynamic with Dane, who has been diagnosed with ALS, Gayheart expressed her commitment to family. Earlier this year, she filed to dismiss her divorce petition after Dane’s health revelation. “He is our family… We try to do it with some dignity and some grace,” she stated during the interview.

Gayheart discussed her personal growth during this challenging period, emphasizing the importance of self-care while supporting loved ones. “You can show up for someone and be there for them, but you also have to show up for yourself,” she noted.

Furthermore, Gayheart underscored the significance of allowing her children to maintain a bond with their father, stating, “[I don’t want them to] look back and go, ‘I wish I would have spent some time with my dad.’” Her ongoing efforts aim to facilitate their relationship, even amidst complex circumstances.

Meanwhile, Eric Dane, 53, has also been vocal about his commitment to family amid his health battle. In a recent virtual panel discussion for I AM ALS, he emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the disease and maintaining a positive outlook, despite the challenges he faces.

Dane remarked, “It’s encouraging for me to know that I… can have a buoyant spirit in the face of something so horrible.” His focus remains steadfast on his family’s well-being as they navigate these trying times together.
