Porsha Williams has publicly confirmed her new relationship with Patrice "Sway" McKinney.
On November 28, the 44-year-old star of Real Housewives of Atlanta commemorated McKinney’s birthday on Instagram with a heartfelt post, declaring, “The Happiest Birthday @sway_thepro.” She added, “Hope this year continues to bring you everything you want and more! 🥂🍾. Can’t wait to act up Saturday!”
In the accompanying post, Williams shared intimate photos of herself and McKinney embracing in front of an elaborately decorated Christmas tree, along with several videos of the couple dancing at a club.
This relationship is Williams’ first public declaration since finalizing her divorce from Simon Guobadia in June. She filed for divorce in February 2024, just 15 months after their wedding.
During a recent appearance at Culture Con, she mentioned she was exploring relationships with both a man and a woman but had narrowed her focus to both individuals. "He is nice, and she is nice," she remarked.
As she navigates new romantic avenues post-divorce, Williams has expressed a desire to connect with "normal people." In candid remarks, she shared her struggle with opening up to her new partners, highlighting a contrasting experience from her past. "What I talked about with my therapist the other day was — I’m having a hard time opening up because they’re not narcissists," she stated.

Williams reported that her current dating circumstances are distinctively challenging. "They’re asking me questions; they’re not letting me walk over them… I’m not feeling safe enough to open up yet," she explained. She emphasized the need for personal growth, saying, “If you want something different, you have to also be different. I have to soften up a bit.”
Back in June, Williams had noted that she would take a break from dating until she felt prepared. "I’m going to do it different this time," she shared, expressing her commitment to be "alone until I’m whole." She also touched upon her contemplation of a romantic relationship with a woman, stating, "When you go through a bad enough breakup, you’re like, ‘I don’t like nobody.’"
Ultimately, she acknowledged that while she had yet to connect with a woman romantically, she remains open to future possibilities. "It’ll come."
