Police Seek Three Motorists in Deadly Hit-and-Run Incident
The Los Angeles Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in tracing three drivers linked to a multi-vehicle hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a man in his 60s.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. on December 23, when a white cargo van traveling eastbound on Ventura Boulevard struck the foot of the victim, who was lying on the road at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Van Noord Avenue.
According to police reports, after the initial impact with the cargo van, the victim was subsequently hit by two other vehicles described as a white SUV and a sedan, both last seen also heading eastbound on Ventura Boulevard.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after the incident but declared the man deceased upon arrival. His identity has not yet been released.
In light of this tragic event, police are reminding motorists of their legal obligations in the event of a collision. "If you are involved in a collision, you should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify yourself," the department stated.
To encourage cooperation from potential witnesses, authorities are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individuals responsible for the incident.
