Peaky Blinders Movie: Release Dates Announced for Theaters and Streaming, Plus Netflix Reveals Title and Teaser Poster
Title: "Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man" Set for Theatrical Release in 2026
The upcoming feature film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 6, 2026, in select cinemas. Following its initial run, Netflix will stream the film globally starting March 20. The first teaser poster has been unveiled, generating excitement among fans.
Directed by Tom Harper, the film is written by Steven Knight and features Oscar winner Cillian Murphy reprising his role as Tommy Shelby, a character he portrayed in the award-winning series from 2013 to 2022. The cast includes notable names such as Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Sophie Rundle, Barry Keoghan, Stephen Graham, and Jay Lycurgo, along with returning cast members Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, and Ian Peck.
Set against the backdrop of Birmingham in 1940 during World War II, the film’s plot centers on Tommy Shelby’s return from a self-imposed exile. The story unfolds with Tommy grappling with his own demons while facing the precarious future of both his family and his country. The official logline states: “Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons and choose whether to confront his legacy or burn it to the ground.”
The original Peaky Blinders series, created and written by Knight, became a global sensation, premiering on BBC Two in the UK in 2013 and arriving on Netflix the following year. The series won the BAFTA for Best Drama Series for its fourth season and transitioned to BBC One for its fifth and sixth seasons.
In October, it was announced that Peaky Blinders would return to television with two new six-part sequel series to be produced for Netflix and the BBC. Murphy and Knight will serve as executive producers for these sequels, which are set to continue the story from the feature film, beginning in 1953.
Producers for The Immortal Man include Guy Heeley, Murphy, Knight, and Patrick Holland, with executive production overseen by Andrew Warren, Caryn Mandabach, Jamie Glazebrook, Harper, and David Kosse.
